If Arabic music is a tree with many branches, then one of those branches is Sabîl. This time the oud-percussion duo formed
by Ahmad Al Khatib and Youssef Hbeisch are joined by two guests, who accompany them, on the double bass and the
buzuq, for this most effervescent of projects. Indeed, Zabad means effervescence, the 'foam of nights', with music that is at
times contemplative, at times exhilarating; both composition and technique draw on tradition to create innovation, with the
fearless curiosity of one who surrenders to the rhythms of the world |
