The Chiaroscuro Quartet was founded in 2005 by four students from the Royal College of Music in London, led by violinist Alina Ibragimova. Playing on period instruments and bows, the group's repertoire focuses primarily on works of the Classical period. This release pairs Mozart's String Quartet K421 with the String Quartet Op.13 by Felix Mendelssohn. These masterpieces of the repertoire are illuminated by the Chiaroscuro Quartet's insightful performances. |
