Legendary pianist Leopold Godowsky (1870-1938) left a huge catalog of over 400 pieces of which over half are transcriptions, arrangements or paraphrases for piano. This recording offers an eclectic overview of the art of transcription in Godowsky through his finest achievements.

Like Liszt, the original work is a pretext for inspiration: it is reworked in depth and with great freedom. His devotion to the great composers of the past was huge and it is with great respect, taste and style he realized adaptations, the aim always being primarily musical.
