Alfred Deller would have been 100 years old on 31 May 2012. Having gone out of print years ago, this 4 CD anthology, which
was first published in 2004, is now being re-released. All amateurs and those wishing to discover this unique art of singing
and iconic voice will be treated to the very essence of his legacy: an indelible mark, unrivalled in his field.
Alfred Deller was born in Margate, England in 1912. He !rst started recording with harmonia mundi in 1967, the partnership
continuing until his death in July 1979. Having become best-sellers (Music for a While, O Solitude...) these recordings were
eagerly received by the public, while also leaving their mark on several generations of musicians. 'We had never heard a
male alto before, let alone one of his calibre! A beautiful vocal timber, refined modulations -effortlessly achieved-, ideally
suited to our old instruments; a perfectly controlled voice that stood out with its ultimate expressiveness. Accompanying him
