Mozart's Piano Concertos nos.23 and 24 were composed during the 1785-1786 season, at the same time as Le Nozze di Figaro: a prosperous period for the musician. Brilliant and eloquent but also tender and dizzy, the piano sounds with fullness, particularly in the poignant and extremely famous Andante of the Concerto no.23.
Granted by the prestigious Mozart Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, François Chaplin has recorded a delicate version of those two scores. His refined style blooms in a sensitive dialogue with of the Orchestre Victor Hugo conducted by Jean-François Verdier, and delivers the very beauty of Mozart's music.
