For over two decades, Matt Johnson has been Jamiroquai's principal keyboardist and co-writer, contributing to their unique style that blends funk, acid jazz and electronica. He has co-produced several of the band's albums, including Automaton (2017), praised for its pioneering style. At the same time, he has collaborated with numerous artists (Lizzo, Duffy, Dizzee Rascal, Purple Disco Machine...) and has become an influential and versatile figure on the music scene. He also shares his passion
on YouTube (140,000 subscribers), exploring keyboards, funk and synths of all kinds. In 2025, he joined the prestigious Parisian label Naive to release Warrior Princess, his 2ᵉ solo album, inspired by the modern activist and heroine Greta Thunberg, blending 70s funk and cosmic jazz, with prestigious guests including Jeff Lorber, Cory Wong and Will Lee.
