貝多芬: 鋼琴三重奏 (作品1-1/1-2/1-3/大公,作品97/幽靈,作品70)
索拉三重奏
With this, their debut recording dedicated to the six Beethoven Piano Trios that bear an opus number, the Trio Sora has firmly established its identity as an ensemble capable of tackling demanding repertoire, scrupulous about authenticity, yet full of daring. Building on their meticulous survey of the composer's manuscripts and letters, as well as a rigorous analysis of his scores, Clemence de Forceville (violon), Angele Legasa (violoncelle) and Pauline Chenais (piano) reveal the extraordi-nary modernity of this creative visionary who from his very first opus in 1795 was already developing and revolutionizing the form initiated by his teacher Haydn. Beethoven designed his trios as full-length concert works: they are highly original in style, employing vivid contrasts and combining all the sono-rous and technical possibilities of each instrument in every conceivable contrapuntal combination. The famous Archduke Trio (Op. 97), the last one to be composed, crowns the entire genre with what the Trio Sora calls 'a hymn to nature and love, with an evidently humanist message', while in the almost equally celebrated Ghost Trio (Op.70) the composer opens wide the doors on a new universe of sound and emotion.
These three young artists have been immersing themselves in this repertoire since they first met, and this is their contribution to the 250th anniversary celebrations of the composer's birth. Their aim is to transcend the image of the artist tortured by his deafness, in order to communicate the vast range of his very human feelings. 'As the opus numbers progress', explains the Trio Sora, 'the psychological and philosophical dimensions of Beethoven's discourse expand more and more. We have dis-covered a quite different personality, that of a young man constantly in love, full of humour and mockery, one whose thin-skinned sensitivity is apparent in every one of the trios.'
