Who is Cornelie Falcon? Although the Falcon soprano, a rare vocal type, is well known today, its original model is much less so.
A contemporary of Pauline Viardot and La Malibran, Cornelie Falcon was one of the stars of fine French belcanto. An exceptional singer, her voice with its generous and powerful low register, capable of reaching impressive heights, gave her both a meteoric rise and a tragic destiny.
