嘉年華/大衛同盟舞曲 舒曼:鋼琴作品第三集(狂歡節/大衛同盟舞曲)
吉明.奧哈維斯 鋼琴
It is a good thing that Schumann’s “Carnaval” and “Davidsbundlertanze” cycles tolerate a wide variety of interpretations and are interesting in many variations. This is also true of Jimin Oh-Havenith’s recordings. She has fully grasped Schumann’s fantasy and differentiates the “Carnaval” very delicately, with a lovingly poetic view of the colorful hustle and bustle. At the same time, the music remains wonderfully vocal. This also applies to the “Davidsbundlertanze”, in which, according to the album’s title, she juxtaposes the fierce and the gentle, with the fierce being expressed without excess and often in dark and mysterious colors.
The pianist obviously knows the work down to the last detail and performs it with a coherent technique and a good feeling for the romantic world of expression, and despite all the fantasy and variety, she manages to keep the piece’s central theme and cohesion. The sound recording is clear, pleasantly spacious and presents the piano playing in the best possible light.
