布瑞頓：《寶塔王子組曲》／馬克費：《塔布-塔布罕》Britten: The prince of the Pagodas/ Mcphee: Tabuh-Tabuhan

英國大作曲家布瑞頓的芭蕾舞劇《寶塔王子》，1957年元旦首演。故事敘述：年老國王要從兩個女兒之間選出一個繼承人，其中邪惡的艾潘公主陰謀篡位，善良的羅絲公主則逃到寶塔島，結識化身火蜥蜴的英俊王子。後來羅絲公主就在寶塔王子的幫忙之下，救出受到囚禁的父王。加拿大作曲家兼民族音樂學者馬克費是布瑞頓的好友，他於1936年所完成的《塔布-塔布罕》，乃是一首「為管弦樂團與雙鋼琴的觸技曲」。至於標題的「塔布-塔布罕」，其實是印尼巴里島的合成字，意為「不同的擊鼓節奏，韻律形式，鑼的打擊，以及甘美朗和音樂本質的衝擊」。本輯另外還收錄1941年布瑞頓和馬克費彈奏雙鋼琴，所錄下的三段《巴里島儀式音樂》，歷史見證彌足珍貴。李奧納德．史拉特金曾任聖路易交響樂團音樂總監十七年，現任美國國家交響樂團和英國BBC交響樂團的音樂總監，曾贏得四次葛萊美獎，也是發燒唱片龍虎榜的常客。
