Waiting for Clara evokes the platonic love of Brahms for Clara Schumann, wife of Robert Schumann, whom he so admired, and who in turn so admired him.
Through this trio of renowned composers, this album unearths the core musical essence of German lyricism: amidst Robert Schumann’s Fairy Tales and Brahms’ Lullaby, between tormented Romanticism and melancholy nostalgia, are nestled Clara Schumann’s luminous Romances.
For his first NoMadMusic album, Julien Herve has surrounded himself with his friends and regular collaborators Jean Sugitani, Isabelle Druet and Pierre-Marc Vernaudon.
