"This is the debut recording of nineteen-year-old Austrian pianist Aaron Pilsan, who has already won several significant prizes over the recent years. At the age of sixteen he won the prize for the best interpretation of Liszt at the Ton und Erklärung competition in Munich, and the renowned magazine FonoForum named him best young artist of the year in 2011. He currently studies with Lars Vogt in Hanover, after years along with Karl-Heinz Kammerling. Aaron Pilsan was named Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), which brought him recital engagements at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Barbican Centre in London, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, Luxembourg Philharmonie, the Laeisz-Halle in Hamburg, the Cologne Philharmonie e.a. for the 2014/15 season. His first recording is an imaginative, lively and intense Beethoven and Schubert program, featuring landmark works such as the Sonata op.31/1 or the Wanderer Fantasy and less known pieces suchas the Eroica variations of the German Dances D.783"
