這張專輯的曲目幾乎都是世界首錄，選自丹尼爾．普塞爾給大鍵琴獨奏以及給小提琴和頑固低音的作品。一般對丹尼爾的印象應該不外乎都是來自亨利．普塞爾的弟弟（但也有人認為他們是堂兄弟或表兄弟）。也有人認為他沒有身為音樂家的才能，但這不見得是事實，丹尼爾留給後世的幾乎都是奠基於亨利的成就之上。丹尼爾在亨利1695過世之後還多活了二十多年，並且吸收了1700年前後流行於英格蘭的樂曲風格和形式，像是返始詠嘆調、義大利風格清唱劇以及和這張專輯息息相關的主題–獨奏奏鳴曲。丹尼爾．普塞爾現今存留的大鍵琴獨奏作品幾乎都是改編而來，在這裡的唯一例外就是觸技曲(第1軌)，這首簡短的作品係採用亨利．普塞爾的鍵盤組曲中的前奏曲形式寫成。組曲(17-22軌)則是丹尼爾改編自己為劇作家法夸爾的作品所寫的弦樂四重奏。另外三首大鍵琴作品也都是從他的歌曲集改編而來。此外他也為小提琴（或木笛）和頑固低音的組合寫過不少作品。夏康舞曲也是從寫給另一齣劇作的作品修改縮短而來。本輯內也有不少樂曲的靈感來自摩拉維亞作曲家芬格的影響。黑澤爾．布魯克斯和大衛．波洛克兩人自1999年組成多拉朵二重奏以來一直受到許多樂迷的支持，為了推廣17、18世紀的音樂，兩位傑出音樂家在英國各地和其他國家積極巡迴推廣，曲目的多變性和生動活潑的演出正是他們廣受歡迎的原因。
