Ravel and Gaveau? It's a long story. From the opening of the
Salle Gaveau October 3, 1907 till the death of Ravel December 28
1937, the music of the composer resonated much between
walls of this mythical place. This disc brings together four major works
from Maurice Ravel, all created at the historic Salle Gaveau:
the noble and sentimental Waltzes, The Tomb of Couperin, the
Trio with piano and gypsy. He returns to Svetlin Roussev (violin), to
Aurelien Pascal (cello) and pianists David Lively and Denis
Pascal to interpret these mythical works in the context of their
creation.
