Vertigo: Taj

"As in the case of their previous album, “Metamorphosis”, Vertigo‘s fourth studio recording, titled “Taj”, comes across as immensely compact and conceptual, with the track setup reminiscent of a monolithic nine-movement composition of various moods. Traditionally, in terms of composition and performance, the Vertigo members are entirely non-traditional, again shifting both the form and content of their musical expression somewhat forward, equally unpredictably, originally and authentically as they have done on previous occasions. Vertigo’s new album confirms their position as visionaries of the Czech jazz scene, thus again determining further evolution of the genre. Their first and third discs earned the band the prestigious Anděl award in the Jazz & Blues category, while for their second they were short-listed for the same prize."
