Born in 1987, Israeli-born Hila Fahima joined the ensemble of Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2010 and the ensemble of Wiener Staatsoper in 2013. On her debut album she presents a mix of well-known arias and rediscovered treasures as written for the Donizetti opera roles of Lucia, Norina, Linda di Chamounix, Adina and Marie (La fille du regiment), plus Verdi's Gilda (Rigoletto) – the role in which she will be starring at this year's Bregenz Festival – and Amalia (I masnadieri). Also included are arias from Donizetti's little-known operas Rosmonda d'Inghilterra and Emilia di Liverpool.
