In early 2023, I stumbled upon a piece for guitar—Portu errota—by a Basque composer I had never heard of, Anton Larrauri. Being of Basque origin myself, I began searching for other composers and works related to the Basque Country. I then discovered a whole repertoire of guitar music that I had never suspected existed, some of which had been very little performed, or even never recorded. That's how the story of this album began... Arkaitz Chambonnet.
