"A new world" is 2018 theme of La Folle Journée festival around the world.
In the history of music, there are many composers who have left their country, and sometimes their continent of origin, to settle in a new world.
At first for political reasons, in the 20th century, many composers have left their homeland.
History shows, however, that there are also chosen exiles, by composers naturally eager to discover other cultures, to appropriate other languages.
These are all works born of the stimulating confrontation between different worlds that La Folle Journée will focus on highlighting during this 24th edition.
