This new recording by the Trio Karenine surveys Austro-German Romanticism of the second half of the nineteenth century, featuring transcriptions of Liszt's Vallee d'Obermann (Tristia), Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht and Schumann's Six Canonic Studies. At once a homage to and a manifesto on behalf of the piano trio medium, it is an invitation to discover magnificent rarities, whether arranged by the composer himself or by other musicians.
